RESOLUTION ON THE METHODOLOGY, STRENGTHENING OF THE ACTIVITIES, MEANS AND STRUCTURES

OF THE OAU LABOUR COMMISSION



The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Thirty- seventh Ordinary Session in Nairobi, Kenya from 15 to 26 June, 1981,


Having considered the Report of the OAU Secretary-General on the proceedings of the Fifth Ordinary Session of the OAU Labour Commission, Document CM/1140 (XXXVII),


Recalling Resolution LC/Res.53 (IV) adopted by the OAU Labour Commission meeting in its Fourth Ordinary Session in Mogadishu, Somalia from 26 to 29 April, 1979, by which an Ad Hoc Committee was set up to study the methodology and strengthening the servicing of the OAU Labour Commission,


Considering Resolution LC/Res.59 (V) adopted by the Fifth Session of the OAU Labour Commission meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 13 to 18 April 1981:


  1. REQUESTS the OAU Secretary-General to take all the necessary steps for the urgent implementation of Resolution LC/Res.59 (V) on the Methodology and strengthening of the Activities of the OAU Labour Commission;


  1. CALLS UPON the OAU Secretary-General to prepare appropriate budgetary provisions on this matter and to present such provisions for consideration by the Advisory Committee on Budgetary, Financial and Administrative Matters and to submit them to the thirty-eighth Session of the Council of Ministers of the OAU;

  1. FURTHER CALLS UPON the OAU Secretary-General to submit a report on the matter to the Sixth Session of the OAU Labour Commission and to the Thirty-ninth Session of the Council of Ministers.
