RESOLUTION ON THE DRAFT GENERAL AGREEMENT ON CO-OPERATION BETWEEN THE ORGANIZATION OF AFRICAN UNITY AND THE LEAGUE OF ARAB STATES

The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Fortieth Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 27 February to 5 March 1984,

Having considered Part I and Annex I of document CM/1241 (XL) Rev.1 on the Draft General Agreement on Co-operation between the Organization of African Unity and the League of Arab States,

Convinced that this Draft General Agreement is aimed at strengthening collaboration between the OAU and the LAS General Secretariats in conformity with the spirit of the Declarations and the Programme of Action adopted by the First Joint Afro-Arab Summit Conference held in Cairo in March 1977,

Reaffirming its determination to promote and strengthen all the organs set up to intensify Afro-Arab Co-operation bearing in mind the objectives and guidelines of the First Joint Afro-Arab Summit Conference held in Cairo in March 1977,

Noting that this Draft General Agreement on Co-operation had been adopted by the Standing Commission at its Sixth Ordinary Session held in Tunis from 20 to 23 March 1983,

Noting further that this Draft General Agreement had been considered by the Council of Arab States and the Council Ministers of the OAU:
