RESOLUTION ON THE GRANTING OF OAU OBSERVER STATUS TO THE CONFEDERATION OF AFRICAN MEDICAL ASSOCIATIONS AND SOCIETIES (CAMAS)


The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Forty- first Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia from 25 February to 4 March 1985,


Considering the application for OAU Observer Status submitted by the Confederation of African Medical Associations and Societies (CAMAS),


Considering that this body comprises 34 Member States of the OAU, that it is a technical body in the medical field, that it has proved its competence to the entire satisfaction of its Member States and that its services can be of great use not only to the OAU but also to the Member States,


Considering that CAMAS can assist African Governments in attaining the objectives set for ‘Health for all by the year 2000”:


DECIDES to grant OAU Observer Status to the Confederation of African Medical Associations and Societies (CAMAS).
