RESOLUTION ON THE APPLICATION OF AFRICAN JURISTS ASSOCIATION FOR OBSERVER STATUS
The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity, meeting in its Forty- third Ordinary Session in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, from 25 February to 4 March 1986,
Having considered the application of the African Jurists Association (AJA) for Observer Status,
Conscious of the beneficial role that the Association can play with regard to the promotion and the protection of Human Rights and other legal issues in Africa,
Having satisfied itself that the African Jurists Association has fulfilled the legal criteria for the granting of Observer Status as established by the OAU Assembly of Heads of State and Government;
APPROVES the said request of the Association and grants it Observer Status with the Organization of African Unity.
