Resolution of appreciation of the work of Mr Kofi Annan, the Secretary General United Nations

The Pan African Parliament,1.RECALLING that Mr Kofi Annan, Secretary General of the United Nations and an eminent son of Africa, was elected to this post following a proposal from the African Group at the United Nations;2.APPRECIATING the Secretary General’s devotion to the achievement of the purposes of the United Nations, as enshrined in its Charter;3.RECOGNISING with satisfaction Mr Kofi Annan’s deep commitment to reform the United Nations in order to meet the current international environment for the betterment of humanity;4.COMMENDING him for his distinguished career for the peoples of the United Nations;

THEREFORE EXPRESSES its support for Mr Kofi Annan, as Secretary-General of the UN, and wishing him success throughout his tenure of office.
