DECISION ON SUPPORT FOR MR JUAN SOMAVIA

The Assembly :

1. TAKES NOTE of the Motion of Support for the candidature of Mr. JUAN SOMAVIA for a second term as ILO Director General, adopted by the 25^th Ordinary Session of the OAU Labour and Social Affairs Commission held in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, from 16 to 21 April 2002;

2. ENDORSES this Motion and SUPPORTS the candidature of Mr. Juan Somavia for re-election for a second term as Director General of the ILO;

3. REQUESTS the Secretary General and the African Tripartite Representatives on the ILO Governing Body to ensure implementation of this Decision.
