SUPPORT AND ENCOURAGEMENT FROM AFRICA AND OAU FOR THE UNITED NATIONS DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME (UNDP) (DOC. CM/1999 (LXVI) ADD.5))

Council:


  1. URGES the International Community to take the necessary measures aimed at substantially increasing the resources of the United Nations for operational activities in favour of Africa;

  2. CALLS UPON Member States to continue to support fully UNDP and other UN Agencies operational activities in Africa, particularly within the framework of the United Nations Decade for the Elimination of Poverty, the United Nations Special Initiative for Africa, the United Nations New Agenda for Africa and the Cairo Agenda for Economic and Social Development of Africa.
