DECISION ON THE 2ND ECOSOCC PERMANENT
GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the report of the Chairperson of the Commission on the Implementation of the Malabo Decision EX.CL/Dec.849(XXV) on ECOSOCC Elections;
2. COMMENDS the Commission for the timely and effective implementation of the Decision that led to the inauguration of the 2nd ECOSOCC Permanent General Assembly;
3. REQUESTS ECOSOCC:
i) and the Commission to continue with organizing by-elections for vacant position in the ECOSOCC General Assembly to ensure the widest representation of Member States of the Union within ECOSOCC;
ii) and the Commission in close collaboration with Member States to facilitate the establishment of national ECOSOCC Chapters as a framework for accountability of elected members, as well as, a conduit for disseminating information and mobilising support for AU programmes and activities;
iii) to play a key role in popularisation of Agenda 2063 and Post 2015 Development Agenda and all important AU policy frameworks.
4. CALLS UPON Member States, the PRC and the Commission to take all urgent and necessary measures to facilitate and support the activities of ECOSOCC and its 2nd Permanent General Assembly.
