DECISION ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE AFRICAN UNION COMMISSION
FOR THE PERIOD JANUARY TO DECEMBER 2015

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Chairperson for the period January to December 2015 and ENDORSES the recommendations contained therein;
2. ACKNOWLEDGES the following:
i) The achievements by the Commission in collaboration with the Permanent Representatives’ Committee (PRC), to improve upon the operations, efficiency and effectiveness of the Commission;
ii) The effective operationalization of the Specialized Technical Committees (STCs.
3. REQUESTS the Commission to expedite the following:
i) The conduct of a comprehensive study on the status of implementation of previous Decisions of the Executive Council and the Assembly and to report thereon at the ordinary session of the Executive Council scheduled for January 2017;
ii) The operationalization, in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, of the African Centre for Disease Control (CDC);
iii) Implementation of the 2050 Africa’s Integrated Maritime Strategy (AIMS) in collaboration with the Member States;
4. REQUESTS the Commission to report on the implementation of this decision to the ordinary session of the Executive Council scheduled for January 2017.
