DECISION ON THE RELOCATION OF THE SECRETARIAT OF THE AFRICAN
COMMITTEE OF EXPERTS ON THE RIGHTS AND WELFARE OF THE CHILD
(ACERWC)

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Report of the Commission on the assessment missions undertaken to the three (3) countries that offered to host the Secretariat of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC);
2. WELCOMES the consultations between Burkina Faso, the Kingdom Lesotho and the Republic of The Sudan on the matter with a view of reaching a consensus; and ALSO WELCOMES the withdrawal of the offer by Burkina Faso aimed at facilitating consensus;
3. ENCOURAGES the Kingdom of Lesotho and the Republic of The Sudan to continue consultations and REQUESTS the Commission to facilitate such consultations;
4. REQUESTS the Commission to report to ordinary session of the Executive Council scheduled in January 2018.
