DECISION ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE AFRICAN COMMISSION
ON HUMAN AND PEOPLE’S RIGHTS (ACHPR)

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Forty-First (41st) Activity Report of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR);
2. AUTHORIZES the publication of the Forty-First (41st) Activity Report of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights (ACHPR);
3. URGES Member States in which challenges have been identified to take the necessary measures to address these challenges; and other Member States, particularly those that are owing 3 Reports or more, and those that have never submitted a Report, to prepare and submit their Periodic Reports to the ACHPR;
4. ENCOURAGES Member States to comply with Decisions and Recommendations of the ACHPR, and inform the ACHPR of the measures taken in line with Rule 112 of the ACHPR’s Rules of Procedure;
5. CALLS UPON the Commission, in collaboration of the PRC, to consider the modalities to secure the necessary resources for the financing of the ACHPR;
6. EXTENDS appreciation to The Gambia for hosting the ACHPR since 1989, and URGES The Gambia to comply with the various Decisions regarding the establishment of a Permanent Headquarters with the requisite facilities;
7. WELCOMES the offer by the Republic of Niger to host the 60th Ordinary Session of the ACHPR, and CALLS ON other States, in particular those that have not yet done so, to host Sessions of the ACHPR.
