CONAKRY TO THE ECOWAS COMMISSION

The Executive Council
1. TAKES NOTE of the Report the AU Commission regarding the transfer of the Fouta Djallon highlands integrated natural resources programme;
2. RECOGNIZES the relevance of the mandate and activities of the Fouta Djallon Highland Program for all countries covered by the Programme and the necessity of its transfer to ECOWAS for better efficiency while keeping its headquarters at the same location;
3. REQUESTS:
i) the AU Commission and ECOWAS to work in synergy in ensuring a smooth transfer of the Programme in the spirit of the ongoing AU Reform process including the financial implications;
ii) Member States to provide the needed support to the Programme and enhance mobilization of bilateral and multilateral support from partners.
