DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE PAN-AFRICAN PARLIAMENT (PAP)

The Executive Council,
1. TAKES NOTE of the Activity Report of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP);
2. CONGRATULATES the PAP on the election of its Bureau at its May 2018 Ordinary Session;
3. REQUESTS the PAP to comply with the principle of geographical rotation among the five regions of Africa in future elections of the Bureau;
4. CALLS UPON the AU Member States, that have not yet done so, to take effective measures to speed up the ratification of the 2014 PAP Protocol;
5. REQUESTS the PRC Sub-Committee on Headquarters and Host Agreements and the Commission to work in collaboration with PAP and the Government of South Africa to finalize the review process of the Host Country Agreement with a view to addressing the challenges encountered by the PAP and the Government of South Africa.
