RESOLUTION ON GRANTING OBSERVER STATUS TO THE INTER-AFRICAN COFFEE ORGANIZATION (IACO)
The Council of Ministers of the Organization of African Unity meeting in its Thirty- seventh Ordinary Session in Nairobi, Kenya from 15 to 26 June 1981,
Taking due cognizance of the relevant report,
Bearing in mind the criteria for the granting of observer status contained in Document CAB/LEG/117/82 adopted by the Assembly of Heads of State and Government at its Fourteenth Ordinary Session in Libreville, Gabon, in July 1977,
Having considered the application for OAU observer status submitted by the Inter- African Coffee Organization (IACO) Document CM/1119 (XXXVII) Add.5,
Aware of the importance of coffee in the Economic Development of African coffee producing countries and the role it could play in the implementation of the Lagos Plan of Action for the Economic Development of Africa:
DECIDES to grant observer status to the Inter-African Coffee Organization.
