DECISION ON THE REPORT OF THE AFRICAN UNION ADVISORY BOARD
ON CORRUPTION (AUABC) ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE FINDINGS OF
THE REPORTS OF INTERNAL AUDIT OFFICE AND EXTERNAL
AUDITORS ON THE MANAGEMENT OF THE AUABC

The Executive Council,

1. TAKES NOTE of the Report and EXPRESSES serious concern over the malpractices within the AUABC;

2. RECOMMENDS

(i) that an Independent Administrative Financial and Human Resource Audit be conducted and that the Report thereon be submitted to the February 2019 Summit;

(ii) the strengthening of financial monitoring and supervision of the implementation of practices in good governance and transparency in conformity with the Union’s regulations on the respective mandates of its organs;

3. CALLS ON State Parties to expedite the change of name of the African Union Advisory Board on Corruption to the African Union Advisory Board on Anti- Corruption;

4. FURTHER RECOMMENDS that the Commission submits a report on the implementation of all decisions of the Executive Council on the AUABC at the February 2019 Summit.
